Bye, Cake Pops: Starbucks Is Opening a New Chain of Italian Bakeries in the U.S.

We usually turn to Starbucks for its over-the-top Horchata Frappuccinos, not for the avocado toast or cake pops. But we just might start buying our breakfast (and lunch and dinner) there in the near future.

That’s because our favorite coffee shop is opening a fancy-schmancy artisanal Italian bakery chain all over the United States. Princi, known for its homemade flaky pastries, focaccia sandwiches, pizzas, salads and tarts, has stores in Milan and London. The first U.S. location just opened in Starbucks’ Reserve Roastery and Tasting Room in Seattle, and more will pop up around the country in 2018.

The cool part? All the food is baked on-site in a huge oven, just like a mom-and-pop joint. Now about that pizza…
