The boy band is back together—sort of. It took getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame to reunite ‘NSync (Justin Timberlake included). Timberlake, Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick, Lance Bass, and JC Chasez posed with their brand-new star Monday then followed it up with a surprise appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Timberlake brought the rest of the group out as a surprise to a room full of screaming grown women. DeGeneres gave the men their own bobbleheads, grabbing Bass’s and announcing “and here I am!” before getting the now-grown men to reminisce about their lives as teenage pop stars.

“We have a ridiculous group chat,” Chasez revealed. “It’s the easiest way. Everybody who you run into is like, ‘I want to see the group chat,’ and you’re like, ‘No!’”

The last time the group performed together was in 2013 at the MTV Video Music Awards where Timberlake received the Video Vanguard Award, which turned out to be a little more involved than they were hoping for.

“We were told at first we were just singing, by the way,” said Kirkpatrick. “It was like, ‘Yeah, come out we’re just going to sing a little bit.’ Me and Joey were like, ‘Cool, we can step touch, this is going to be great.’ Then the choreographer shows up and we’re like, ‘Wait, wait, what?’ A lot of Tylenol.”

If the group ever decides to take the show back on the road, it’s probably best to anticipate the modified version of their past dance moves.
